Our wildly successful Rod Building Classes: Will be held on these Monday nights from 7:00 pm -9:00 pm as follows:

Aug - 4, 11, 18 25 - Full ...........................but due to the popularity of the course a new night and time for an additional August only class has two openings
Aug - Add'l class - Tuesday Aug 5, 12, 19 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm We will accelerate the class into three session. Fly rods only for this special class.

Nov 17, 24,Dec 1 & Dec 8 - Four (4) spots open
Class size is limited to four builders. The registration fee is $95.00 prepaid and non-refundable due by the Thursday prior to the first class. This does not include rod-building materials. You will need to purchase your rod blank and components from our existing shop inventories. If you plan to provide your own blank and components the registration fee for the class is $209.00 Based on your choices, your completed rod can cost as little at $79 or as much as $500. You will finish the course with a handcrafted rod made to your liking!
2008 Fly Fishing & FlyTying Class Schedule. The classes will be held at White Clay Outfitters, 403 Louviers Drive, Newark, DE 19711. All fees will be due in advance. Due to the limited class size, class seats will be provided on a first come-first serve basis for paid participants. All tying materials needs for the class are included in the fee.
1-on-1 Tying Classes are held by appointment so that you can arrange a class around your busy schedule. These classes allow the student, beginner or experienced, to go in any direction, whether it be learning the basics, a new technique, or a specific pattern. All 1-on-1 classes are $40.00 to $50.00 per night for the two hour class. The cost will be dependent on the subject matter and associated materials being used. All classes must be scheduled and paid for at least 24 hours in advance. If the offered nights conflict with your schedule, special arrangements may be made be contacting Doug or Ken.
Group Classes are welcome. Whether you're part of a group of friends or have a spouse, son or daughter, we will provide a class specific to your needs.
Flyfishing Classes are offered by appointment so that you can arrange a class around your busy schedule. The tuition for a series of three-one hour classes is $75.00, paid in advance prior to the first class. You will learn how to assemble your rod and fill your reel with backing & fly line, including the required knots. The casting portion of the class will have you throwing overhead and roll casts. You will also have a session on reading water, flies and their use, and where to fish local streams - putting it all together! Don't hesitate to get signed up since fly fishing offers the maximum amount of fun you can achieve on the stream, a lake, or the beach.
